Lisa M. Bennett, MA, RP

Registered Psychotherapist | Clinical Director

Lisa is the Clinal Lead and Primary Therapist at Bennett & Associates Psychotherapy Services. Lisa graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, specializing in Psychology from York University. She then completed her Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Lisa is a registered member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).

Lisa works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Her experience includes working with individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, phobias, abuse and trauma, grief & loss, post-traumatic stress, chronic pain, and issues of anger management, addictions & substance abuse, stress management, relationship conflict and abuse, and parenting & step-parenting. 

Lisa believes that each person’s journey in counselling is unique and uses an integrated approach to best assist individuals, couples, and families in reaching their goals for counselling. Lisa has trained in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and has extensive experience in utilizing this treatment in her practice. While her main focus is in using EFT, she also has training and experience in Mindfulness Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy.

Lisa uses a collaborative approach in counselling to foster a trusting, supportive, and empowering environment for her clients.

Loretta Hoac
MA, RP

Registered Psychotherapist | Senior Associate

Loretta Hoac is an Associate Psychotherapist at Bennett & Associates Psychotherapy Services. 

 

Loretta is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). In 2018, Loretta completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at York University and her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University in 2021.

Loretta appreciates the unique individual circumstances of her clients and takes an integrative approach to therapy, involving Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Loretta has experience working with clients with depression, anxiety, low-self-esteem, work-related stress, obsessive-compulsive behaviours, interpersonal issues, guilt, anger, and grief. She will work with you to unravel, and make sense of, the multifaceted issues you are experiencing, so you can move forward in a positive and meaningful way. Loretta strives to always make the therapeutic environment as comfortable and safe as possible, to allow clients to express themselves without judgment.

Loretta is currently available for in-person, over-the-phone, and virtual sessions, by appointment.

Bonny Kaman Li 
RP(Q)

Psychotherapist | Intern

Bonny is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and brings over a decade of experience supporting vulnerable populations, including LGBTQ+ individuals, displaced persons, newcomers, women, and survivors of domestic violence.

Bonny is dedicated to providing trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and client-centered care. Her approach is rooted in empathy, active listening, and evidence-based techniques, creating a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore emotions, build resilience, and develop strategies for healing and growth.

She adopts an integrative approach to therapy, tailoring methods to each client’s unique needs. Bonny has training in various modalities, including Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Mindfulness Therapy.

Bonny has advanced training in trauma recovery with Dr. Bessel van der Kolk and holds additional certifications in Autism and Neurodiversity in Childcare and Autism and Neurodiversity Workplace Settings from the University of British Columbia. She has experience supporting individuals and families navigating stress, anxiety, trauma, burn-out, and relationship challenges.

In addition to her counseling training, Bonny is an experienced court mediator specializing in conflict resolution and high-conflict disputes. Her mediation skills enhance her ability to navigate emotionally charged situations, foster mutual understanding, and help individuals find constructive solutions.  

 

Bonny offers both in-person and remote appointments, committed to empowering clients and fostering healing within a supportive, collaborative environment.

Laura Bennett, BA

Intake Co-ordinator

Laura is the Intake Co-ordinator for the practice and is usually the first voice most new clients will hear as she helps each person on board a new journey towards healing.  With her gentle voice and empathetic demeanour, she helps all clients to the practice feel safe and heard, and deeply appreciates her role as the first person to help calm nerves and assuage any fears about embarking on therapy and counselling.

Laura has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
